Jono's Story

“I grew up as a Provincial sportsman in my younger days in South Africa. I cycled, played baseball, squash, tennis, cricket and soccer. I never thought twice about the food I put into my body, until one day when my body came crashing down on me.

Out of nowhere, the chronic pain hit me. Endless trips to doctors and specialists followed, with no resolve in sight. A shroud of depression came and took hold of me and wouldn't leave me. For days I'd just lay in bed, not wanting to get out. If no solution was found, I had made the decision to end my life.

After countless specialist tests that spanned over two years, I was diagnosed with the debilitating Ankylosing Spondylitis, iritis/uveitis and migraines. I was fighting a chronic inflammatory condition that had me bed bound for many months at a time and had me in and out of hospital for what seemed at the time, an endless number of operations.

Even with all the operations and medications, I was not given the guarantee that I would ever be fully healed of this condition, and that I would wear this for the rest of my life. Then, a truly life changing moment happened to me. I met with a health coach who showed me how I could make some simple changes to how I lived, what I put into my body, how I treated my body, how I treated my mind.

I learned how food could affect my inflammatory condition and was able to get back my life just by putting the right nutrition into my body. I was soon able to return to my passion—being on my bike and cycling—almost every day. Now my bad days are still far better than any good day. My bad days now are 10 times better than what my good days used to be.

I made it my life mission to show people how they too can make healthy changes to their lifestyle, and through my journey inspire them that it’s possible to live a better life.”


Michele's Story

“I was on a mission in my 30s to reach my physical potential and thought I was doing everything right and eating the best possible foods to make my body healthy. I trained regularly, sometimes twice a day, and was extremely active. But even though I felt strong, I still had persistent migraines and bloating, no matter what I eliminated from my diet.

Then I met Jono and was inspired by his story. I followed his method, and he helped me make a few simple changes and introduced me to the importance of fueling my body correctly. In a few short months I found I was not getting as many migraines and my bloating almost disappeared. Over time I felt my body continue to change, and my migraines and bloating became almost non-existent.

Thanks to my new lease on life I took up cycling at the age of 40, got pregnant in the same year, continued cycling every day at 5am until 2 weeks before our little munchkin was born, and now have an energetic 1 year old that I chase around with Jono. I am so glad I can teach her what good nutrition means and which foods can fuel her little body the best.

This lead me to study with Precision Nutrition, a leader in the latest nutrition science and behavior-change psychology. Being a teacher, I love to research and learn every detail, so knowing that the principles behind Precision Nutrition are based on the same type of advice that is shared with Olympians and professional athletes fills me with confidence. I made it my mission to teach everyday people that eating the right foods to complement their lifestyle will allow their bodies to perform at their best and recover faster.
